FRK

Fortified rice kernels (FRK) are a crucial component in addressing micronutrient deficiencies globally. Fortified rice kernels are rice grains that have been enhanced with essential vitamins and minerals. This process aims to increase the nutritional value of rice, a staple food for a large portion of the world's population.

How FRK is pruduced at Jindal Rice Mills

The most common method for producing FRK is through extrusion. This involves:

- Mixing rice flour with a premix of vitamins and minerals.

- Using an extruder to form the mixture into kernels that resemble regular rice.

Blending

FRK are then blended with regular, unfortified rice in specific ratios (e.g., 1:50 or 1:100) to create fortified rice that can be consumed regularly.
